Auto-expand folder when item added
When checked, a folder will expand when a link or folder is added to it.
Auto-expand selected folder
If checked, when a folder is selected it will expand to display subfolders and links. However, subfolders of the selected folder will not automatically expand.
Auto-collapse folders when selection changes
To avoid having extraneous folders expanded check this item. Each time a link or folder is selected, all of the folders not containing the selected link or folder will collapse.
Set focus to new item after adding
When checked, a new folder or link assumes focus when it is added. Focus is indicated by a grey rectangle highlighting the newly added item. When a new folder is added, the folder receives focus and the name field of the new folder is initially in edit mode. When a new link is created using the Create New Link menu command, the link is selected and the Properties dialog is opened.
Check whether URL exists when adding
When checked, NetVisualize scans the open file for existing links with the same URL as that of the link being added. If a matching URL is found, the user will be notified and given the option to delete the link with the same URL. If there are multiple existing links with the same URL, the first one found is the one that will be deleted, and the others will remain.

Confirm delete
When checked, a confirmation dialog will appear when the user tries to delete a link, shortcut, or folder. The user is prompted to confirm or cancel the delete.
Sorting
Select the appropriate radio button to leave items in the file unsorted, to sort items in ascending alphabetical order (A-Z), or to sort items in descending alphabetical order (Z-A).
Keep folders and links separate when sorted
When checked, folders and links in the same level of the hierarchical structure in the Link Explorer Panel will be sorted separately. The sorted file will display all links in a level either before or after the folders in the same level, depending on whether the sort direction is descending or ascending. When unchecked, folders and links will not be separated. The sorted file will display links and folders intermixed and sorted according to the "Sorting" preference setting.
Copy to Windows Clipboard Template
This option can be used to set the folder path and filename for a template file that will be used to format the link information which is copied to the Windows clipboard when a Copy command is performed. The format for this template is explained in the How To... Edit HTML Thumbnail Links Page Templates section of this documentation. NetVisualize has a built-in template for the Copy function, so this setting is optional.
