Organize Links

Creating Folders and Subfolders
As links are collected, organizing them becomes increasingly important. Folders and subfolders used to implement standard hierarchical organization can be created using the and buttons on the Toolbar or corresponding options in the Link Explorer Panel right-click popup menu or Edit menu.

Moving Links

Links can be moved between and within folders to increase clarity or improve organization. Drag and drop functionality is implemented in the link explorer panel, also facilitating moving items among folders. When dragging and dropping items, a line appears to indicate where the item will go when dropped. Items can also be dragged and dropped to the desktop. The "Move to Folder" option, available in the Link Explorer Panel popup menu and in the Edit menu, provides another way to move items in the NetVisualize file. After selecting the items to be moved, click on the desired destination folder in the "Move to Folder" popup menu.

Default Folder

Another organizational feature is the default folder. The option to set a particular folder as the default folder is available from the Edit menu or the Link Explorer Panel popup menu when a folder is selected and is denoted by the icon.

Separators

The user may also find separators useful in maintaining clear organization. Separators can be added by clicking on "Create Separator" in the Link Explorer Panel popup menu. They contain no link or folder information. Separators are simply placeholders or spacers used to add clarity to the tree view display.
