Operating System Requirements
NetVisualize Favorites Organizer requires Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP or better. It also requires that Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater be installed the system, although Internet Explorer does not have to be the default browser. Internet Explorer does not have to be used at all, but the current version of NetVisualize Favorites Organizer requires that Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher be installed on the system because it utilizes the Internet Explorer HTML rendering engine to generate thumbnail images.

Browser Requirements
NetVisualize can be used with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Netscape 7, Mozilla, Opera, and other browsers. Even if Internet Explorer is not used, it must be installed on the system because it is used by NetVisualize to generate thumbnail images in the background.

Minimum Hardware Requirements
In order to obtain good results from NetVisualize Favorites Organizer the user's computer should meet the following minimum hardware requirements:

·	64 Megabytes of RAM

·	5 Megabytes of free hard disk space to install the software

·	100 Megabytes of free hard disk space recommended to store generated thumbnails

·	500 MHz Pentium or compatible CPU

·	Video resolution of 800x600 or higher

·	At least 8-bit (256 color) video mode

·	14.4 Kbps Internet connection (56 Kbps or faster recommended)

Recommended Hardware

Generating and storing website thumbnail images can be very hardware resource intensive. Internet connection bandwidth is required to download the website HTML and images, CPU processing power is required to render the pages and compress them into JPEG format for use as thumbnail images, RAM is required to cache the thumbnail images in memory for quick display, and hard disk space is required to store the compressed JPEG images. Since NetVisualize can utilize multithreading to download and generate multiple website thumbnails simultaneously, it can make good use of high-end hardware. The above suggested minimum hardware requirements are sufficient, but when NetVisualize Favorites Organizer is first run it checks the computer hardware and adjusts itself to make the best use of the hardware and operating system available. For example, if 1.5 GHz CPU and 512 Megabytes of RAM are present, NetVisualize will automatically increase the maximum number of simultaneous thumbnail generator threads. Hardware-specific settings can be manually adjusted from the Preferences dialog.
