Snap to edge of screen if within __ pixels

When checked, after the main NetVisualize window is moved or resized it will automatically snap to the edge of the screen if it is within the specified number of pixels. By default, this option is checked.

Enable appbar style

When checked, NetVisualize assumes an appbar style. An appbar is similar to the Windows taskbar that docks on the bottom, top, or sides of the desktop. When NetVisualize is running in appbar style, it can dock on the left or right side of the desktop. When in appbar style, the space underneath the NetVisualize window is reserved. For example, when attempting to drag other windows on top of or underneath an appbar, the mouse cursor halts at the edge of the appbar and maximizing other windows will expand them to fill the desktop, minus the space occupied by the appbar applications. When appbar style is enabled, the width of the NetVisualize window can be altered, but the height cannot be altered.

Auto hide

If checked, the NetVisualize window automatically hides off the edge of the screen when not active. To make it reappear, move the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen. To temporarily hold it in place, click the main NetVisualize window so that it will be active. To release it, click the desktop or a window from another program so that NetVisualize will not be active. To hold the NetVisualize window in place even when it is not active, use the "Pin in Place" button on the toolbar or the "Auto pin" user preference. Note that the "Auto hide" setting only applies when appbar style is enabled.

Auto hide delay (ms)

When "Auto hide" mode is enabled, the NetVisualize window will automatically hide when not active, and reappear when the mouse cursor is moved to the edge of the screen. However, there is always a short delay before the window hides or unhides. The lengths of the delays before hide or unhiding are controlled by the "Hide" and "Unhide" delay settings. These settings are measured in milliseconds (1000 milliseconds equals 1 second). By adjusting these values, the sensitivity of the auto hide and auto unhide features can be controlled.

Enable sliding effect

When checked in conjunction with "Auto hide," the NetVisualize window will appear to slide into the edge of the screen to hide. When unchecked, the NetVisualize window will simply disappear to hide. Note that this setting only applies when appbar style is enabled.

Auto pin

When checked in conjunction with "Auto hide," the NetVisualize window will automatically pin in place each time it is shown. This prevents the window from hiding while it is in use. To release the window and allow it to hide again, click the "Pin in Place" button on the toolbar. If the "Auto pin" option is disabled, the "Pin in Place" toolbar button can still be used to pin or release the NetVisualize window manually. The effect of the "Auto hide" and "Auto pin" options used together is similar to the standard Windows Minimize and Restore behavior, except that NetVisualize minimizes off the edge of the screen instead of to the taskbar or the system tray, and it is activated by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen instead of clicking on a taskbar button or system tray icon. Note that the "Auto pin" setting only applies when appbar style is enabled and the "Auto hide" mode is in use.

Dock left, Dock right

Select "Dock left" or "Dock right" to dock the NetVisualize window on the left or right side of the desktop. Note that this setting only applies when appbar style is enabled.

Always on top

When checked, the main NetVisualize window will always appear on top of windows of other running applications. Note that this setting only applies when appbar style is enabled.

Appbar Unhide Mouse Response Region

The user can set the mouse response region size and midpoint that will cause NetVisualize to unhide in appbar mode. This response region size corresponds to the portion of the desktop edge (up to 100%) that will respond to the mouse cursor when the mouse is moved to the edge of the desktop. The response region midpoint corresponds to the center point of the response region, where 0 is the top of the desktop edge, 50 is the middle, and 100 is the bottom. The desktop edge affected is either the left edge or the right edge depending on whether the Dock left or Dock right radio button is selected. Note that this setting only applies when appbar style is enabled.

Thumbnail Size Options

Thumbnail images are saved in a NetVisualize Thumbnails (.nvt) file as 800 x 600 JPEG images. The size of the image displayed in the Thumbnail Viewer, Thumbnail Directory, Links Popup Menu (accessed either from the Tray Icon or from the Links Menu), or HTML Thumbnail Links Page is scaled according to this setting. The options are 1/2 (400 x 300), 1/4 (200 x 150), or 1/8 (100 x 75) the size of the saved image.

Link Explorer Font

The font used in the Link Explorer Panel (including the font style, size, and color) can be controlled using this setting. The default font used in the Link Explorer Panel is intended to fit the maximum number of items (folders and links) in a limited viewing area. Depending on the size and resolution of the monitor in use, some users may find the default font to be too small and difficult to read. This setting can be used to increase the size or otherwise change the font as needed. To revert to the default font size and style, exit the NetVisualize program, open the NetVisualize.ini file (located in the NetVisualize installation folder) in Notepad, and delete the line that begins with "FontLinkExplorer". Then start the NetVisualize program again.

Notes Panel Font

The font used in the Notes Panel (including the font style, size, and color) can be controlled using this setting.
